It's official! Richard Salon has been voted "Best Hair Salon on Long Island" - 2010 by the readers of The Long Island Press!


The "Best of L.I." is an annual readership poll taken by the Long Island Press Newspaper recognizing the best businesses on Long Island.

The 2010 "Best of L.I." edition is to be published January 14, 2010.

The Long Island Press is a free alternative newsweekly serving Long Island with extensive coverage of arts and entertainment, sports, and alternative political viewpoints. IBS New York - April 25 - 27 2009

What an awesome month of April we had for Hair events. In early April, we had been invited to the Wella Studio in Rockefeller Center for a day of education. What a place this is! The facility is for training and further education only, but stop by and take a look next time your in Midtown, or when you go to see the Christmas Tree. It's the best of the best for international training.

Next up was the International Beauty Show at the Jacob Javits Center. We had a great time checking out hair and hanging out with each other outside the bustle of the salon. Big heavy bangs and fringe are HOT right now... keep the rest of your hair loose, and get that front moving for you. Frizz-control is also a HUGE priority right now.. ABS Chicago - March 28 - 30 2009

Back home after an awesome weekend in Chicago. Very inspiring hair going on. Got a jumpstart on the spring season, and took a ton of pictures. Check out our facebook fan page for updates.

I was privileged to take part in a Master Stylist razor cutting class with Nick Arrojo from TLC's "What Not To Wear". What a real class act... he knows his stuff alright...

Also got a chance to meet with Marcia Teixeira, the Owner/CEO of the "Brazilian Keratin Treatment". I got a lot of questions answered for everybody, so call if you need any answers...also, I will let everyone know when we get her new product in the salon. It is a Keratin Treatment without the 3 day wait before shampooing..

Congrats to our own Melissa who is well on her way to becoming a top stylist.. book now with her before you can't any longer.. ;)

Coming soon we will have an iPod/iPhone compatible website with desktop app... very cool... wait 'till you see it. Qwick connect, YouTube, GPS directions etc.... I will post when it's available..

Next up is Wella Studios education in Manhattan on the 20th, then IBS New York @ the Javits Center the following week...
